What a cracking track. It may have been a deliberately commercial single according to Mark Putterford's Phil Lynott biography, but so what? Since when was selling great singles a crime? With Gary Moore joining Scott Gorham in a dual lead guitar attack, Waiting For An Alibi stands testament to just what a great song writer Lynott was. That groove that he was always able to add is so evident here that and in under 3 and a half minutes, it's damn near perfect.
