Even a spew of remakes and sequels can't detract from the fact that Carrie is one of the greatest horror movies ever made and as the first of over 100 adaptations of his work, was the film that took the brilliance of Stephen King from literary to cinema audiences. With the likes of the Shining, Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me and Misery still to come, it's a testament to King, Brian De Palma and a mesmeric Sissy Spacek that Carrie still hold up so well today.
