I had no idea what to expect when I first sat down to watch The Shape Of Water. I'd heard it was good but wasn't expecting to be mesmerised like this. Beautiful in every possible way, The Shape Of Water is the finest movie I've seen for a long time. True story: I was sat on a flight watching The Shape of Water for a second time, while next to me was a lady watching Paddington 2. Although we both landed seeing Sally Hawkins is very different lights, we probably concurred that she is a superb actor.
