According to many, David Allan Coe's full biker patch is the reason Outlaw Country is so named. Others deny it, but we kinda like the idea. For while there have been many plastic outlaws over the years that no more know the inside of a jail cell than they do the inside of a space shuttle, but Coe was the real deal. Singing about drugs, alcohol and his time inside with more authenticity than many could handle - which is why he's loved and revered as such a true pioneer.
