Who knows if even half the stories about the great Buddy Rich are true? And although we all love a story about an artist doing crazy stuff in the name of music, in the case of Rich, it hardly seems to matter whether he had a searing temper, couldn't read music, didn't see the need to practice or anything else - because in the legendary Buddy you had one of the greatest musicians that recorded music has ever heard and almost certainly it's finest drummer.
