In the movie version of High Fidelity there were lots of things all music fans recognised and nodded at, but it was Championship Vinyl's owner, Rob's asserting that first on his top five list of track one - side ones was The Clash's Janie Jones that made me smile the most. Mainly because it was the only thing that shouldn't be up for debate. Joe Strummer's tale of infamous London "Cabaret" owner, Janie Jones and a guy that hates his job and looks forward to visiting Janie at the weekend, transcends punk and is a near perfect pop song too. Love love love this track - which is why we had so much fun designing it.
