At the time, Goonies was just a kids’ adventure movie. It really didn’t seem like anything more than that. But as time passes, for those of us of that certain age, it has matured into something so much more important. Looking back now, it is clear that it is a near perfect time capsule. About the friends we had and the adventures that we all wanted to have. Just us and our pals with nothing but each other and our wits to escape peril. There is an innocence to it that seems impossible for studios to make these days. Today it would be full of impossibly beautiful teen stars with perfect teeth.
