As a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s, The Warriors was one of those films I'd heard about but never seen. It always seemed so exotic, especially as any reference to it made by our parents' generation made it sound like a film that would bring down civilisation. Then in the mid-80s, the joys of having a film geek older brother finally started to bear fruit as a bootleg VHS copy of The Warriors appeared in amongst his (supposedly) secret stash of porn.
