Was Lenny Bruce the most important comedian since Chaplin? Err, yes. Just think, without Bruce there would be no Richard Pryor, and certainly no Bill Hicks, and without those two we may as well just give up and go home now. Bruce may be hard work, but he was still bloody brilliant.
