Does Gremlins get the credit it really deserves? Sure, its fans couldn't care less what the critics say, but it is so much more than Christmas movie and so much more than another American 80s teen flick. Just because Gremlins has cute and funny title characters that made for excellent merchandising opportunities, it shouldn't hide the fact that it was a superb satire on 80s consumer culture. Oh yeah... and it is a cracking Christmas film.
