There is something about the way the Coen Brothers make films that instantly places them into the realms of “cult” cinema, and the Big Lebowski is no exception. Being eminently quotable, chock full of offbeat characters and the ability to treat the audience as grownups with the ability to keep up with proceedings all help. With The Big Lebowski though, it was the creation of The Dude, that gave every slacker out there a new anti-hero.
