When Rockstar came out, I can't have been alone in hoping beyond hope that it would be the metal Almost Famous. Two hours of homage to our metal heroes of the 80s. With Mark Wahlberg on board maybe it would have a splash of Boogie Nights too? We all knew that the story of Tim "Ripper" Owens joining Judas Priest inspired the plot. The producers sure committed some serious budget to it and pulled in some real rock royalty to add credibility (Zakk Wylde, Jason Bonham, Jeff Pilson and a pre-fame Myles Kennedy. There's also a brief cameo from Steel Panther's Michael Starr). But was the result all we dreamed it would be? Errr, well the soundtrack was pretty cool. STAND UP STAND UP AND SHOUT!!!!
