Some things are open to debate. Who's the best guitarist, who's the greatest drummer etc. But who is the single most important vocalist and performer in rock n' roll, then there is no debate to be had. Without Little Richard there is no rock n' roll. His inspiration and influence over EVERY genre of modern music is irrefutable. You may prefer others, but when everyone from Elvis and James Brown to Jimi Hendrix and Lemmy holds you up as the greatest, it is futile to argue. And without Little Richard then there would probably have been no BathroomWall as it was my dad playing me Keep A Knockin' as a toddler that set me on the path to rock n' roll damnation.
