The 80s and early 90s produced some seriously stupid action movies and on the surface of it, Point Break should be amongst the worst. Surfers that rob banks? Keanu Reeves? Gary Busey? Every odd couple buddy cop movie cliche complete with shouty boss? But somehow, and I'm really not sure how. Point Break elevates itself way beyond it's contemporaries. Much of the credit goes to Kathryn Bigelow direction, who makes embraces the countless plot holes to make an insanely enjoyable film that made us all want to learn to surf
