In the mid-70s British rock bands ruled the world. Even the best American bands, couldn't compete with Led Zep, the Stones, The Who etc. But my favourite of them all was the bar room boogie of the Faces. Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagan & Kenny Jones took the British mod soul of the Small Faces & doused it with beer, whiskey & cigarette smoke. I loved the Faces not only because they sound like they were playing the world's best pub lock-in, but they had the good grace to quite whilst ahead with a legacy of 4 perfect albums - even if Pool Hall Richard wasn't on any of them, it is still a bone fide Faces classic
